Candy Shop Nail Tutorial
1)Start with the base: first apply one layer of a base coat (this is essential as it prolongs the design and protects your nail bed). I used the All In One Basecoat, Topcoat and Nail Hardener by BarryM for this.2) Apply the Pink: using your pink varnish, apply one coat on each nail. As I used the Jelly line by BarryM which is a lot thicker than most polishes, this only took one coat. However, depending on the strength and thickness of your polish, this may require 2 or 3 coats.
3) Apply the lines: wait for the base coat to dry before starting this step. This does take a lot of patience. I did not get the effect my first time trying but practice makes perfect. Using your white nail art pen, apply even vertical lines along the nails. I recommend doing this upwards for a straighter line and to avoid the pen passing your cuticles.
4) Finish off with a top coat. The pen dries within seconds so this step can be done immediately. Polish off your look with a shiny top coat of your choice. Not only does this prevent the white lines from fading, it adds a shine and longer lasting look.
BarryM Gelly Hi Shine Dragon Fruit (shade 11) £3.99
BarryM Nail Art Pen-White £4.99 – What I love about this is that with the pen, you can be totally creative. However, I would recommend applying a top coat to this as it tends to dry out quickly.
BarryM All in One Base & Topcoat £2.99 – This has been a lifesaver for me, a base coat, top coat and nail hardener all in one. For just £2.99!
Lots of love,
